Ridlon Kiphart Sharkman
I began studying and working in the field of architecture when I was 16 years old and won my first design competition that year. I spent years working for an award winning architecture firm in downtown Dallas and went to the School of Architecture at University of Texas at Austin where I studied architecture and engineering and continued to hone my craft. Later on, I returned to the University of Texas and studied marketing and finance at the School of Business with a minor in history.
During that time, I also began my adventuring and travel career career, working for the top names in luxury travel, exploring over 120 countries and all seven continents, earning a 200 ton Masters (captains) Licence, PADI Master Instructor and becoming a high altitude mountaineer.
In 2002 I began designing, building and crafting one-of-a-kind, luxury homes. And in 2004, we began renting our homes in what then was a completely new and very nascent idea – luxury vacation home rentals. We combined all we had learned from design, building, travel, adventure and the luxury boutique properties we had visited around the world, and synthesized it all into a unique vision – Adventure Couple Design.
